Narrow escape as Chelsea defeats Hull City 2-1 in 4th round of FA Cup

The fourth round of the FA Cup between Hull City vs Chelsea saw Frank Lampard men winners of the match. The match took place at the KCOM Stadium with the Blue’s winning 2-1 at the end of the game.

Frank Lampard men came into the match well informed having dominion over the ball at all angle during the first half of the match. Not long into the first half, say in the exact time of 6 minutes of game play, Batshuayi got the opportunity to send in the ball into the goal post, making the Blues leading with 1-0. Meanwhile, during the first half of the match, Chelsea had more than opportunities of doubling the numbers of goal, but all their opportunity were all wasted.

At the end of the first half, Chelsea was having 1 goal while Hull City Nil.

The second goal from Chelsea came in the Second half of the match after Ross Barkley made a sweet cross to his team mate Tomori, and heading the ball into the net. Tomori scored the second goal for the blues in the 64th minutes of the game. Chelsea has now equalised into the 5th round of the FA Cup.

Hull City did not score until the 78th minutes. Their goal came through free kick awarded by the referee. Kamil Grosicki reduce the deficient for his side. Another opportunity came for the Home side, when Marcos Alonso gained a pass from their opponent, but his shot did not make it through the goal post.

The match was almost heading for a draw as Hull City got all over the ball during the last stage of the match, as opportunity came for them to equalise but all to no avail.

Unfortunately for them, the match ended with Chelsea leading 2-1.

In other news in the FA Cup, Southampton vs Tottenham Hotspur ended up 1-1 after Boufal scored the equalizing goal in 87th minutes. Leicester City vs Brentford ended in favour of Brendan Rodgers side, with 1-0 win for Leicester.
